The Hermes bands are 140 mm for double loop and 145 for single loop, or 0.4 and 0.6 inches larger. Apple will not acknowledge the problem. Hermes said they cannot do anything, their customer service said you cannot put extra holes in these bands.
I typically wear the s/m sport bands rather than the m/l on the tightest setting so this also extends to the Hermès sport band that only comes in m/l for the 42mm. However, the bigger issue is the leather band. All bands are unfortunately a tad too loose. And as @Brisebelette and @MacDevil7334 pointed out, the only solution is to drop at a Hermès store and ask them to punch an additional hole. I've. My new Hermès watch just arrived--yay!
