Basically, there are 4 versions of this watch. There doesn't seem to be a consensus which one is better out of the box, v2 or v3. According to some experts, v2 has better dial but v3 includes a gen-like ETA datewheel. In my eyes best possible option could be the v2 .The TD assured me it was a genuine ETA when I specifically asked him, having bought other watches from him I feel-Hope he is truthful from my experience with him so far, I also removed the (glass display) case back to get a better look at it and then found several images of genuine ETA 7750 movements from sellers on eBay that are highly rated .
Breitling has used ETA movements in the majority of their watches for a very long time, to say they have a very beneficial and close relationship would be an understatement. Breitlingsource.com lists 11 in-house movements of more than 50 mechanical and quartz movements and variants that were used historically: Breitling is going completely “in-house” so no more 7750 aka B13 movements are used. The last Navitimer release to use this model is the 41mm A13324. Best factory for this is / was the KOR factory release. Breitling does not modify movements. They modify and add to ebauches. An ebauche is simply a movement in kit form, but importantly it does not include mainspring, mainspring barrel or any of the escapement.
Hi all - I'm slowly building up my collection of Breitlings but being relatively new to all this, I hadn't realised that, for the majority of their pieces, they use ETA base movements. I'm told that they use completely off the shelf ETA movements for some of their range - . I have recently taken in 2 Breitling aerospace sin for movement changes. One has an ETA 310.351 and the other has an ETA 310.391. Am I right in assuming that the replacement movement for these is the ETA 988.332? ETA still sells movements, and Breitling purchases movements from both ETA and Sellita. The base movements are effectively identical, so it really doesn’t matter which supplier is used. Breitling does final install of a lot of the parts, anyway.
